Hi friends, welcome to my first foodie post! If you're reading this and know me personally, you would know that I'm a strong advocate for brunch. I can safely say that it's my favourite meal of the day and if I could, I would have brunch all day everyday without hesitation. There's just something the busy atmosphere, the smell of delicious coffee and food and simplistic yet pretty decor. My bestie, Thips, introduced me to Dumbo a few weeks ago I definitely have a thing for in store interior and this place pretty much lived up to my standards! Can I say the same about the food? Let's find out, shall we?
I opted to try the Green Tea Latte even though I'm more of a coffee gal myself but since my friends ordered it, I thought I would give it a shot as well and I love green tea anyways. It's definitely aesthetically pleasing to look at but it was honestly way too bitter for my liking but, after what felt like a whole jar of sugar, it was pretty good! I probably wouldn't order it again only for the fact that it wasn't my cup of tea but I'm not saying you shouldn't try it for yourself. On to food, I ordered the Sautéed Seasonal Mushrooms with a side of polenta, cherry tomatoes, rainbow chard, shallots with salsa verde and two poached eggs on sour dough (plus bacon). The flavours of this dish are sensational, seriously! The mushrooms were cooked and seasoned perfectly, the polenta added a creaminess to the dish and you can't go wrong with poached eggs on sourdough. I'm not the best at describing the taste but man, I couldn't recommend this dish enough to anyone that's looking to try Dumbo. I know you should never order the same dish twice but my second time here, I couldn't pass up on this dish.

My girls ordered the Potato Fritters with a side of chili lime salsa, besan, sweet peas, radish, garlic sumac yogurt, smoked salmon and a herb salad and also a Spinach and Ricotta Turkish Borek with a side of basil lime avocado, poached eggs, spiced pine nuts and tomato relish puree which was delicious by the way! We ended our Dumbo experience with Ricotta Donuts with salted caramel, vanilla crumb, cocoa custard and vanilla bean ice cream. It was HEAVENLY! I could eat ten of those easy. The donuts had a great consistency and wasn't too doughy, dry and dense like some donuts I've tried previously. It pairs great with the vanilla bean ice cream which cuts through the sweetness of the salted caramel and I highly recommend it if you're feelin' for something sweet after brunch. They also have a small selection of sweets at the front counter aswell if you just wanted to grab a quick snack and coffee! They look hella good.

Overall, I couldn't recommend Dumbo enough for the fantastic food, atmosphere and location. I love finding hidden gems in the local community so special thanks to Thips who took me! I hope my first food post did some justice and I didn't just ramble. Thank you so much for reading you guys! See you in the next one!

Til next time loves,
Neens
